Security

Some sections of this Website and Association Documents are password protected to prevent access by people who are not members of the Bay Pointe Home Owners Association.  This prevents, or greatly limits, the potential for unwanted contacts or solicitations, or SPAM from outside sources.  As members of the Bay Pointe Home Owners Association, only you will be given the access password.  There are two separate passwords, one for membership lists, and one for everything else.

Likewise, inquiries from outside entities, like Realtors, are controlled by directing them to the Webmaster in the “Contact” tab.  Unless they have the specific access password, they cannot access membership, boat slip or officer lists, nor any specific Association Documents like financial statements, etc.  Contacting the “Webmaster” is their only method of entry.

To obtain the “passwords”, contact the Webmaster in the “Contact” tab.

Please help to prevent unwanted solicitations or contact.  Do not share these passwords with people who are not members of the Association.

Navigating the Bay Pointe HOA Website

Website navigation is accomplished through the use of “Menu” and “Sub-menu” tabs displayed across the top of each of the various web pages, or through selecting specific “Links” placed within the body of text being viewed on any particular page.  Additionally, within selected paragraphs of text are highlighted, underlined words.

Menus containing sub-menus will automatically expand when selected, identifying the additional menu choices available.  Selecting an identified “Link” in lieu of the use of a menu tab will bring the user directly to the item or page that is the subject of the “Link”.  Selecting a highlighted, underlined word (for example Duke Energy) will either bring you to an associated internet web page or an “attached file”.  With the exception of PDF files, in “Apple OS X” selected file attachments are sent to the “Download” folder in the “Finder” and are opened from there by double clicking the associated file’s name.    In “Microsoft Windows”, a dialog box will open asking the user what program to use for opening the file.  Supported file formats are .doc, .xls, .pdf, .ppt, .jpg.  For both “Apple OS X” and “Microsoft Windows”, PDF files will open immediately when selected provided Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed.  Adobe Acrobat is a free PDF reader available from Adobe at “www.adobe.com”.  Contained within each page associated with a “Menu” tab is a description of the menu content, and how to use it.

Printing

Tables, resource lists and posts can be printed using the “print” icon at the bottom of the page.  Documents such as meeting minutes, etc., are printed using your web browser’s “print button”.

Inputting information or changes to the Bay Point HOA Website

The Bay Pointe HOA Website is “Read Only”, meaning users of the Website cannot directly add content to, or otherwise edit, any of the data or information displayed on any of the pages.  Only the “Webmaster” can add or delete information.  This prevents inadvertent inputs that could cause the Website to become non-functional, prevents the Website from being used as a political platform, limits the potential for SPAM attacks, and prevents getting into a “back and forth” by and between HOA members.

For security reasons, this is the ONLY method by which content can be added to this web site.

Not withstanding, comments, complaints, data inputs, or edits relative to the Website or its content can be accomplished through direct communication with the “Webmaster” by selecting the “Contact” menu tab or selecting this “Link”.

Types of Content that can be added to the Website

Most any type of content can be added to member lists or to listings in the “Classifieds”, etc.  Types of content can be plain text, photos (jpeg), PDF, Excel or Word file formats.  Contact the “Webmaster” by selecting the “Contact” menu tab or by selecting this “Link” to request the addition or editing of information to the Web Site.

Communicating with the “Webmaster”

For security reasons, and to prevent website spamming, the ONLY way to contact the “Webmaster” is through the “Contact” menu tab or by selecting this “Link”.
